I have not forgotten my blog or have I stopped my 100 days. Still going strong with workouts and eating right. Just wanted to take a break from blogging for a few days slash weeks. It began to feel like a job for various reasons, I am not going to go into details about why it felt that way but I needed to take a break.
Few things have changed that have made blogging everyday tough as well. One I have started my new job which means by the time I get home most nights I am not motivated to do much after the gym. Also I have switched a few things up. I decided two a days were really time consuming and I am trying to figure out how to workout in the morning. I do not like machines in the morning because I am half asleep but I have found running on a trail outdoors is fine.
That is what I did this morning. I ran for a few miles on a local trail and used a new app couch to 5k. I am really hungry right now so I will promise to write more tomorrow or later today.

Day 20-22
I watched diary of a sad cat on YouTube the other day. It is pretty funny. Sometimes I feel like this blog is like that. Melatone voice Day 20 of my weight loss. Well I feel like I am losing a lot of weight but Sunday will be the real test. Of course tomorrow I am suppose to start two a day workout and I am going to a wedding so this may be interesting as far as when I have time to workout.
So problems learned from trying to do a post from your phone while driving through BFE when you hit post you might not have internet. At this point I am back to civilization and a computer.
It is Day 22 and Sunday. Day 20 went well did a good workout before heading up the road to Waynesboro for a wedding on Saturday. Stayed under for my calorie goal.
Yesterday was the day of two a days. So I woke up early put on workout clothes and set out to jog/ walk around the neighborhood in Waynesboro. Do not know how far I went but it was 30 minutes and the views are beautiful. Breakfast was egg whites and lunch was Panera. Then off to Charlottesville. Well we were going to go directly to the wedding but I forgot to pack a black belt so we went to the mall. And then I realized I did not bring cuff links for my french cuff shirt. So we proceeded to run from one store to the next buying a belt and and cuff links and changing with 15 minutes to spare and having then to drive across town before the start of the wedding. After parking the car and racing in we made it to our seats just in time (even though I may have been a bit sweaty from all the running) Workout number #2. Dinner was at the reception and we ended the night with a few dances before driving back over the mountain.
No work out Sunday was great. Still ate healthy but did not count calories so I have not idea for the day. Did my measurements and weight in....Drum roll please...... Lost 1.8 pounds maybe eating more is helping. I also lost a quarter of an inch on my next line, one and half inches on my chest and a half an inch on my waist. Hopefully the weight loss will continue from here on out.
That's it for now...feel free to add tips, comments, and suggestions in the comment section, also do not forget to vote to the right side of the page and as always thanks for reading. Cheers!

Day 17
So today was my first real day at my new job. Although most of it was shadowing, I did get on the phone and book one appointment. Started the day out early at 6:30 and went downstairs to only realize the delay on the coffee had not started. So I proceeded to the living room where I sat for awhile and played cell phone games and checked Facebook for an hour all thinking I should have just slept a little longer. After getting ready and having a cup of Joe, I had breakfast which was greek yogurt with honey and almonds, a tangerine and a thinaddiction (367 calories).
At work I continued to snack all day having a thinaddiction, the egg white of a hard boiled egg, and a tangerine (172) Lunch was a pork tenderloin slice, green beans and a sweet potato (212).
After getting home and driving through the wonderful spring weather of sleet and snow I discovered out gym was closed because they are redoing the floor. So I decided to do Insanity. I would have preferred to do a workout off of the first DVD but we have loaned out some of them and all we had was one that had Max Recovery and Insane Abs. I did Insane Abs. I was not ready for this to say the least. Since that muscle group was not ready and it was not a cardio workout in nature it was hard to log how many calories I burned so I did I guessed around (100).
Dinner was Quinoa and stir fried veggies and chicken (482) Way short on my calories my wife and I went to Circa 1918 for wine night. Two glasses of red wine and a few bites of my wife's dessert, bread pudding, and my caloric intake was 54 under. I ate enough today finally. A little carb heavy though with the wine and quinoa. Maybe tomorrow I can cut that down and hopefully the gym will be open. As always thanks for reading Cheers!

Day 16
I would like to start tonight by apologizing to my audience for the recent short posts and missing days of posting. Sometimes I just loose motivation. Not loosing any weight in two weeks despite all my hard work was a little depressing. It would be one thing if my measurements were showing improvements but they are not. So as I mentioned yesterday I am going to start tracking my caloric intake. I am using an app called Lose It! on my droid. Seems like a good one.
Also, the whole reason for blogging is for support and guidance. If you read this feel free to comment below. I would appreciate any tips and encouragement. Also on the side there is a on going poll to vote for the next 100 days. I might add another category if this continues in the same direction of flat line....100 more days of weight loss.
On to my day....also since I am using a calorie counting app I can tell you all of the caloric values. For breakfast 3 egg whites (75) Turkey sausage 3 links (200) One slice of whole wheat bread (110) and 1/2 of a potato fried and cubed (80). Total breakfast was (465) Lunch was Panera. Greek salad with dressing and chicken breast (522) I meant to ask for dressing on the side but forgot and they mixed it in and I was too much in a hurry to try to fix it. I had Rotary tonight and dinner was provided. Chicken gumbo soup to start, and then a chicken breast baked, vegetable medley, and a cup of mash potatoes for dinner. Dinner was (569)
Also the app said I should be eating 1,886 calories a day which is a lot if you are eating somewhat healthy. With that said after my workout I was 700 calories shy of my goal. My workout was 35 minutes on the elliptical and 2.17 miles. So with me being so short on my caloric intake and that probably being my problem with not eating enough and my body going into starvation mode, I decided to have second dinner. White corn tortilla chips, salsa, broccoli, baked beans, a salad no dressing, and a handful of almonds (406). Still nearly 300 calories shy of my daily goal but I am done eating for the day. Hope this post was long enough for you ;) (wink face)...hehe.... as always thanks for reading. Cheers!

Day 15
Another weigh in day. Still the same weight as when I began. Did some research and decided I need more caloric intake. Measurements are almost the same. Lost half an inch in the waist but gained it in the chest. In five days I begin two a days so I will see what that does for me. Till tomorrow.

Day 13 and 14
Day 13 was spent in Richmond. Highlights of the day include my bracket being destroyed and coming home. For breakfast egg whites and turkey. For lunch salad with chicken and for dinner county grill chicken baked beans and grilled veggies. Workout was not much just a walk for 30 minutes.
Day 14 breakfast was a handful of almonds then off to my mani pedi. Then we has turkey chili for lunch grilled chicken, green beans, baked beans, and salad for dinner. Workout was noland trail and geocaching.

Day 12
Day late but all the same. Hotel was stupid full of people the other morning. I went down for breakfast and the lobby was full. The line was seven people deep so I decided to go back up to my room and eat a thin addiction bar thingy and a halo...which in case you do not know what those are a thin addiction is a thing found at Costco....look it up...and a halo is a small orange but not a tangerine although it looks and taste like a tangerine apparently it is not oh well.
Lunch was chicken salad and same with dinner. Instead of treadmill I swam 500 meters.

Day 11
Over 10% done. Breakfast was oatmeal and a banana with coffee and water. Lunch was a chicken salad and dinner was a loaded salad. Workout was 30 minutes and 2 miles interval style.
Life in Richmond has officially gotten old. I miss my wife and home. I know I am home on the weekends but this has been a long time. My eye is feeling much better. I think it has all cleared up but I am still using eye drops for the next few days as the doctor ordered. Training has gotten somewhat boring. Coming from a sales background we are learning "how to sell" I like the approach they use but after three days of it I feel it has been a bit of an overkill. I understand the reasoning for some in the class this is their first sales job. At least tomorrow we start on business basics so we will get to a new topic.
I know I would said I would post pictures today but I am having trouble loading them on to the computer. I will probably have to wait till I get home this weekend.
Also Happy Birthday to my brother and as always thanks for reading. Cheers!
Day 10
Well woke up Tuesday morning with pink eye. Yes pink eye. I did not know adults even get pink eye. I have been using more hand sanitizer since I have been up here than I ever had in my life. They have the stuff with lotion in it doctors use so it doesn't dry out your skin but still supposedly kills germs. Before I reset my pedometer 7,450 steps yesterday. Well back to my eye. So since I woke up with a burning eye I figured something must be in it so I spent a good amount of time trying to flush out my eye in the shower and in the sink and trying to see if I could see something. I went downstairs and my car was a solid block of ice. Like the scrapper would not even put a dent in it. So I started my car and spent a good 20 minutes trying to scrap my car. So I just grab some thin addictions I had in the car and that was breakfast.
After going to the doctor and being given drops for my eye infection I went to Panera for lunch and had a salad with chicken. Dinner was the spinach salad with oranges and all that stuff on it. Workout was 40 minutes treadmill 2.67 miles. I will try to push harder tonight.
I know I said I will post pictures on Day 10 but as it is the morning and I do not think anyone really wants to see these pictures I promise I will post tonight.
As always thanks for reading, Cheers!

Day 9: Saint Patty's Day
I did not forget about the blog yesterday I went out for St. Patty's Day after dinner and went straight to bed when I got back. I went out and met with an old friend in Richmond pretty quiet night.
My breakfast was same as all last week. I am going to eat oatmeal on Wednesday morning. Since it is Tuesday I will get to this morning in another post.
Lunch was a chick salad. Dinner was the same salad I normally get.
Tried something new for workout and did interval training on the treadmill. One minute sprint then let my heart rate drop back down to 130 and then one minute sprint...repeat. Did 2.66 miles in 40 minutes felt good and I figure as I get back in shape I will be able to run more since my heart rate wont climb as fast and high in a minute run. At least that is the idea.
I will post Day 10 either later tonight or tomorrow morning.
As always thanks for reading. Cheers!

Day 8: Weigh In 2
So no workout Sundays. Weighed-in in the morning and had dropped a pound but then had corn beef and cabbage for lunch and weighed in again and gained the pound back. I also did measurements. 16.5 inch neck. 44.75 chest and 42.5 waist. I also did take pictures but will add them on day 10. Lets see if no drinking makes a big differences this week.
100 pageviews so far someone out there is watching. Thanks for reading. Cheers!

Day 7
One whole week. I almost did not blog tonight because its been a long day. But all in all a pretty successful day with a few exceptions.
For breakfast I had oatmeal with maple syrup and a little bit of brown sugar and some fruit (strawberries and grapes).
After going grocery shopping with my wife I can home and had some tortilla chips with salsa as a snack and then her left over Chicken Alfredo from her lunch yesterday for my lunch today.
Gym time was 40 minutes on the treadmill and 2.82 miles. I also did almost 10,000 steps on the pedometer today.
Dinner is a bit more complicated considering we went to a cook out and I have a cheeseburger and a hotdog and an assortment of various foods. Most of the other stuff I had a bite or two of about 5 other things but to say exactly what I ate would be tough.
I am keeping it short tonight due the the fact it is late and I am tired. So as always thanks for reading. Cheers!

Day 6
Well today was my last day in a hotel till of course next week. So to be honest I did not have a full breakfast this morning. I fell asleep early last night and did not get a chance to pack so when I woke up this morning I took a quick shower and threw everything into a suitcase checked out of the class and had a thin-addiction Costco short bread thing. I know that really the balanced breakfast but I make due with what I can.
Lunch I found a new gem. Chicken Fiesta. It is kinda like fast food but it is all rotisserie chicken. I had a salad with a ton of chicken on it and yucca on the side. Delicious. I love yucca by the way. Why does anyone even eat potatoes.
After training I drove home to my beautiful wife and we went to the gym together. I have no idea how far I ran on the treadmill but it kicked my butt. The first machine broke in the middle of my workout. I have no idea how far I had ran and it did not display. I did the remaining 18 minutes of my 40 minute workout on another machine and did 1.25 miles but like I said I have no idea the first amount so my best guess is somewhere between 2.50 and 2.75.
For dinner we went to Schooners with friends. For the sake of public info I will not name my friends unless they want me too. Dinner was Pesto chicken, sweet potato fries, a side salad, and some spinach. I did split an apple pie with my wife for dessert. Also the chick was smothered in cheese which I did not know at the time of the order. But all in all it was delicious. I should start taking pictures of the food I eat.
Also new challenge except on the weekends and drinking holidays no more drinking. So St. Patty's does count.
As always....thanks for reading. Cheers!!!

Day 5
The lovely hotel gym that I work out above. Not much of anything. I think the machines are older than me but hey its a work out.
Starting off with breakfast. Any guesses? At this point you and the people at the hotel bistro are wondering why do I not want anything else. This breakfast combo is the only option that offers egg whites and no cheese. Since I am also watching my cholesterol level there is not many options and although it does have potatoes and one slice of bread it is a lot more carb friendly than any of the other options.
I can guess what some of you (not saying any names) but I know at least what one person is thinking. "Why don't you just customize the order?" The reason is because one I am usually in a hurry, two I don't want to be that guy, three I do not know if they will do it, four they will probably mess it up whatever the customization is, and fifth I like it. There is I can count five reasons its good enough for me.
Lunch. I was bad again. Wawa sub on a wheat bun, ham, no cheese and a ton of veggies. I was going to try this place Chicken Fiesta which is tex-mex and does rotisserie chicken (not fried) but I was out of mints and I did not want to make more that one stop so Wawa it was.
Dinner. Citrus Spinach Salad with grilled chicken, walnuts, orange slices, and cran raisins. It was so good last night I needed to try it again.
Now for tonight's workout. Treadmill, 40 minutes, 2.82 miles little improvement from last night. I'll see if I can keep that trend going. And today I remembered to pedometer it up all day so yesterday I had like 7,611 today I have 7,625. That's right I literally took 24 more steps today. Improvement is improvement. I also would like to say I should get a reward for consistency although I was in the exact same routine today as yesterday as far as walking during breaks lunch and even treadmill time. Although I did run further today which makes me wonder.
By the way I have created a poll on the side. Feel free to vote for my next 100 days and I decided if I get enough of you actually following I will create a Youtube channel. That should be scary. Thanks for reading. Cheers!

Day 4: The Saga continues
Well I did remember to track my steps but not until lunch. So since that was half way through the work day I just decided to double that and then add my workout and all the walking since.
Breakfast: Same thing again....refer to the last two posts....it is a lot to type. Lunch I was bad :( Well on the carb side. I went to Wawa and got a 6 inch ham sub on wheat with no cheese and a bunch of veggies. The bread is not something I need so I feel bad about that.
After work to the hotel gym. I was going to take a picture of the workout room and post it but it was full and I thought it would be a bit awkward for the people in there so I just worked out. Elliptical was taken so I waited about 10 minutes and thought screw it, treadmill time. Feeling bad about lunch I did 40 minutes instead and 2.7 miles.
After freshening up, dinner was a chicken spinach salad with oranges cran-raisins and walnuts with no dressing.
Not to forget, as of 7PM tonight my pedometer (remember adding a guesstimate for the morning) is 7,611 steps. I will try to get that up to 10,000 before I go to sleep. Also took a picture of an awesome rainbow so I will leave that image with you for now.
Thanks for reading. Cheers!

Day 3: Nothing too exiciting
Today was very similar to yesterday. Breakfast was egg whites, turkey sausage, whole grain toast and potatoes. Lunch was sushi again and dinner was a chicken salad no dressing.
After training was over I came straight back to the hotel and talked to my wife, Happy, for a little while before getting on a board meeting conference call. Lots of fun developments there. I stuck around on the call for the two voting issues and then dropped off because I know I will lose motivation if I were to stick around for the three hours of the meeting or however long it took. I will read through the minutes to see if I missed anything when they come out. Sorry if anyone is reading this on the board for leaving early but I have to stick to my personal challenge.
After the meeting I went down to the hotel gym and went straight to the elliptical machine. I did a 30 minute workout and 2.27 miles. I need to keep improving that mileage number. The thing about running with no TV or music is it gives you time to think. Since this is an 100 day thing I figured I will do the first 40 days in the gym to get somewhat back in shape before finishing out the last 60 days with Insanity.
Yes I am going to try Insanity again but this time maintaining my diet of low carb, sat fat, and cholesterol diet. Last time I did Insanity I got about 20 or 30 days in and injured myself. One because I went straight into it while out of shape and secondly for doing it with out shoes. Proper footwear may have prevented me from pulling a leg muscle. This time I will be ready :)
Also tomorrow I am going to start using my Ipod as a pedometer. I have meant to do this for the last two days but have forgot it in my car both times. Hopefully I will remember tomorrow. Since the first 40 days are going to be strictly gym time I have also figured the first 20 I will do one a days and the last 20 (of the 40) to two a days. Yep workout before and after work. It is definitely going to kick my butt but I need it. That is what its all about.
On a side note I have also started taking a pill on the recommendation of my brother Hunter. Folic Acid with DHA. One pill contains folic acid, B-12 and Omega-3 DHA (Fish Oil). According to him this should help with my cholesterol. I know the fish oil helps with cholesterol but according to my kid brother folic acid and sometimes drop it by 30% in just a few months. Here's to lowering my cholesterol.
Also I want to thank Happy, for sending out that e-mail today. If you are reading this thank you for following my blog. Encouragement is welcomed from all. That's it for today. Cheers!

Day Two
Second day of blogging. I think this sets a record for the most consecutive days I have ever blogged. I am going to try to stick with this. So as I said before I am on a weight loss kick. 100 days of it to be exact.
First last nights dinner. Not the best way to start but I had a Chick Ciabatta sandwich with coleslaw and chips. I know I am suppose to be losing weight and that does not help.
I am currently in the fine town of Richmond VA for training for my career. I am training for a Personal Banker with a rather large bank. I will not name the name of the bank because I am not sure what the compliance is on blogging but those who know me know where I work. With that said I am living out of a hotel for the next two weeks.
The hotel not only has a gym (if you call it that) and a bistro (again if you call it that). For breakfast I has egg whites (2) turkey sausage (3 links) half a serving for potatoes and one slice of whole grain toast. Coupled with coffee and water.
Then off to training I went. For lunch I found a sushi buffet. So I got about 10 pieces of sushi and a diet Pepsi for less than 6 bucks. I think I found my new lunch spot. California rolls, tuna, and salmon rolls as well. It was divine.
After training I headed back to the hotel and debated swimming in the 10 meter pool. 50 laps is what I did last week which is a 500 meter just in case some of you can not do math but after doing that two times I decided I needed to get goggles because my eyes were burning something fierce. So this week back to the "gym" I did 1.15 miles on the treadmill for about 15 minutes when I started to get shin splits or cramps (I can't tell the difference) so a switched over to the bike for about 2 minutes and felt like an idiot so I finished my workout on the elliptical for 15 minutes and did 1.2 miles and then a 3 minute cool down for an additional amount of miles I do not remember. (For the record on treadmill I was do random inclines and the elliptical I was adding random resistance.) I do not know if this counts but I thought I would put it out there.
For dinner I had a chicken Caesar Salad with no dressing. That sums up the day. I would greatly appreciate feedback and comments left below on your thoughts
Until tomorrow. Cheers.

Welcome Day 1
Before I begin with the topic for these 100 days I wanted to talk a bit about the format and my inspiration. My beautiful wife Happy began a Facebook posting daily called #Happys100happydays which gave me the idea of trying to do something for 100 days and then blog about each one. A lot can change in 100 days and I wanted to try this out but I did not want to use Facebook.
The reason why is my topic. 100 days of weight loss. I have never liked when people put their eating habits or workout routines on Facebook or Twitter because I do not care about how many miles you ran or biked or your caloric intake for the day. So I did not want to be that guy. Hence Blogging. If you want to read about it go for it but this way I am making it public without throwing in everyone's face.
Few things first. I am not a huge guy by my standards but I would like to lose as much weight as healthily possible in 100 days and what better way to document my journey than with a blog. So this is day 1. The format for each day is simple. I will highlight exactly what I ate so far at least. My workout for the day and every Sunday document my results in weight. I should take pictures as well but maybe next week. Few things as well. I do not work out on Sundays....I figured I should get one rest day a week and why not the Sabbath.
So how about a baseline. Today I weigh 221.8 pounds. I know I am a fat ass. My goal is to get south of 200 in 100 days... really my ultimate goal is 175 but I do not know how healthy 50 pounds is in 100 days. Who knows maybe it can be. As far as what I ate today....Nothing for breakfast....I know I should eat breakfast but I didn't. After church about two handfuls of almonds and then when I got home I had leftovers from Whole Foods which consisted of about three fork fulls of pulled pork, sauerkraut, half of one kielbasa sausage, wild rice with vegetables and a tall water. I know it was heavy on the carbs and fat but I need to kill those leftovers before they went bad. I will update on dinner and tomorrow's meals tomorrow. June 16th, 2014 hear I come.
